Retreat

The past couple of months have been insanely busy. I don't mean to complain, it's been a welcome change from a slow photography year, but man, when it rains, it pours. I've been a little frantic and crazy, and I think it's affected my family more than I thought. My husband declared that WE NEED A BREAK! So, after asking around, we decided on this little gem of a bed and breakfast. A husband/wife R&R. BEST TWO DAYS EVER. No editing, no chores, no rowdy children (as much as I love them), just peace, quiet, delicious food, and breathtaking scenery.

(views from each of our balconies)
In the morning they served the most delicious breakfasts. Day one was a ham and cheese crepe and homemade biscuits with raspberry cream jam.

Day two was cream cheese stuffed french toast with mixed berry topping, bacon and fruit.

The rooms were beautiful and clean, the grounds expansive and beautiful, and you can even go fishing in the stream if that is your cup of tea. We ate at a few wonderful restaurants in Midway, and the morning we left we got the best mocha ever here.

Bed & Breakfast: Johnson Mill
Mexican Cafe: Tarahumara not a huge fan of their enchiladas, but they have amazing leche cake
Lunch: The Stew Pot really yummy stew and the best BLT ever
Dinner: Bear Dance Cafe delicious pizza and steak
